Ole and Ingrid Hass of Beech Tree Puppets present “The Giant Turnip.” This whimsical and humorous telling of this Ukrainian folk tale celebrates community and caring for the earth. After lovingly preparing and tending their garden, an old man and his wife grow a vegetable so large that they can’t pull it up by themselves. The story unfolds with singing and hand-crafted rod-puppets. Shadow puppets reveal what happens under the ground, including a jolly and helpful root gnome.
